Mothers are the best thing God ever created after he created the earth. In Primary School my mom decided to send me to computer classes, I was very excited because I was about to learn something new. I always wanted to use the computer but at that time we weren't fortunate enough to have a computer; therefore I was so happy to go to the classes.
It turned out great, classes were what I expected. I was ahead of the class. There I had it. At last this is my new found love.
My mom being a Instructor and Teacher, I had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience. I did her manuals, booklets and other materials for work. I also had the opportunity to work with her on her University projects. There I was doing graphics and layout with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. I was pushing the software to the limit.
My cousin later introduced me to Corel Draw 6. Corel Draw being more cut out for graphics and layout; I was better able to practice better, exercise my creativity and learn more, as the different versions were realised I got them and mastered them. One night my dad asked me to design a poster for a concert. Unfortunately my Corel Draw stopped working and I couldnt get it to load. My only other option was ADODE PHOTOSHOP 7.0; I was there thinking what should I do, because I am not going to touch photoshop. My dad really wanted the poster so i had no other choice but to use photoshop. For months i kept on opening and closing photoshop because I couldnt understand layering and other stuff and it was just impossible for me. This very night i had to fight all those fears and use it. I opened photoshop, went through the different tools and said to myself, 'I am going to learn this'. When I thought I knew enough, I decided to go ahead with the poster. It turned out great, but I never touched photoshop again. I then learned how to use Microsoft Picture It! Publishing, which was more user friendly. That's where my graphics skills and capabilities 'kicked off'.
I moved on to University where i pursued a BSc. in Information Science. It was at this point that I realised how important photoshop is, everyone around me was using Photoshop. So I decided that I wasn't going to be left behind so i installed Photoshop 7.0 on my computer and started to practice.
Photoshop 7.0 has passed, Photoshop CS has passed, Photoshop CS2 has passed; now i am using Photoshop CS3 and this is me!!!! this is where I am at!!! Adobe Photoshop CS3 my best friend, every single day i open adobe Photoshop. The journey has just begun, the road is long to the top and I will make it. With the support of Clients, friends and fans I will make it to the top where we will all appreciate Graphical Art and the work of everyone who has contributed to it. Thumbs up to those who created Photoshop!!! Adobe, you did a great job.!!!!!
